As soon as you have launched a campaign and selected a nonprofit to receive the funds, your donate button will activate and you will be all set to start receiving donations. However, there are a couple of reasons why your campaign would not be able to accept donations.
Beneficiary is not selected
Without a beneficiary, there is nowhere for the funds to be allocated. Please make sure you have selected a nonprofit beneficiary to receive donations from your campaign. All campaigns on GoFundMe Charity go directly to the charity beneficiary you select.
To select a beneficiary, go to the Campaign Editor. Under Settings, scroll to Beneficiary. Ensure your correct nonprofit is entered in this space.
Note: If you wish to raise money for an individual and/or personal cause in which donations go to a personal bank account, please set up a campaign at gofundme.com. At the moment, we aren't able to transfer an existing campaign on GoFundMe Charity to the GoFundMe platform automatically. For this reason, we recommend saving the content on your GoFundMe Charity campaign and copying it into your new GoFundMe campaign.
Donate button is turned off
Another reason why your campaign isn't accepting donations is because your donate button could be turned off.
You can toggle your donation button on by heading to your campaign Editor > Settings Tab > Disable Donate Button.
Charity has not set up withdrawals
Charities need an active method for accepting donations and sending payouts, so if they don't have PayPal Giving Fund connected, or their WePay account isn't completely set up, our system will automatically disable the donate buttons on their campaigns. Please make sure that an administrator on the charity's account follows the steps in this article about withdrawing money to activate incoming donations as well.
