On GoFundMe Charity, you can invite your friends and supporters to join your campaign and help you with your fundraising journey.
Invite fundraisers via social media or email
If you’re contacting your network via social media or email, simply send them your direct campaign link and ask them to click the Join the Team button. This will prompt them to create their own campaigns which will be directly linked to yours.
Invite fundraisers via the Campaign Manager
You can follow the instructions below to invite your network to join your campaign through the Campaign Manager:
- Log In to your account
- Click Campaigns to access the Campaign Hub
- Hover over a campaign and click the Manage icon
- In the Campaign Manager, scroll down to the activity feed and click the fundraisers tab
- Click Invite a new fundraiser
- Add up to 10 email addresses with a comma to separate each one, check the box in the reCaptcha to confirm you’re a human and then click Invite Fundraiser to send
An email with a direct link to your campaign page will be sent to your potential fundraiser(s) asking them to join your campaign.
Managing your teams and fundraisers
The Activity Feed displays donations in chronological order along with fundraising milestones (e.g Campaign created, 50% to goal, etc). Through the Activity Feed, you’ll be able to monitor your campaign’s progress, along with that of your Teams and Fundraisers.
Beside the Activity Feed, you have 1-2 additional tabs that display all Fundraisers (individuals fundraising on your campaign) and/or Teams (groups of individuals fundraising on your campaign, if you have Multiple Teams enabled).
Fundraiser settings
If you click on a Fundraiser, a menu will appear that allows you to take additional actions for this individual.
From this view, you can see basic information about this individual’s campaign including:
- Owner’s name
- Dollars raised
- Goal
- Date of campaign creation
You can also mark this fundraiser as “Official,” or, choose to “Hide” the fundraiser from your campaign altogether.
Pro-Tip: Mark a fundraiser as Official if they are, for instance, an official charity runner, elite fundraiser or sponsor. By marking as official, this individual will have a special designation in your Fundraiser Report - Detailed.
You can contact an individual fundraiser by clicking the Message Fundraiser button. Just enter your message, hit “Send”, and an email containing your message will be sent to him/her.
You can also select the Offline Donations option to attribute funds raised outside of GoFundMe Charity to this fundraiser. This money will count toward the campaign’s total amount raised.
Team Settings
Toggle to the Teams tab (this is available if you have Multiple Teams enabled from your Campaign Editor).
If you click on a Team, a menu will appear that allows you to take additional actions for this team.
Similar to the Fundraisers window, the Team window displays tools to communicate and manage your campaign’s teams. If you have multiple team members, you have the ability to message all fundraisers within that team by clicking the Message Entire Team button.
Toggle to the Fundraisers tab within the Team window to show a display of all individual fundraisers who make up the team:
You can also refer to the Offline Donations tab to attribute offline gifts to the team.
Note: The team organizer is the default recipient of offline donations. Make sure to select the correct team member in the dropdown if there are more than one members on a team.
