- Choose an easy-to-remember campaign link
- Grab your organization’s website link (you’ll be using it later!)
Choose your campaign type
Apart from the content that you’ll be adding to your campaign page, you’ll also need to figure out what type of campaign you’re running. This is best to do before you start your fundraiser, since some features can’t be turned off once turned on.
Donate-only campaign
The purpose of a Donate-only campaign is to prioritize asking for donations rather than asking individuals to join your team. Individuals will not be able to join your page and raise funds for your cause alongside you.
To create a donate only campaign:
- Create your campaign
- Go to the Campaign Manager (after you upload your campaign image)
- Click on the “Edit” button on the Campaign panel
- Click the “Settings” tab of your campaign edit page
- Scroll down and toggle on the “Disable New Fundraisers” feature.
Standard campaign
A Standard Fundraising Campaign allows individuals to donate and to join your campaign to collect donations on your behalf. Each person who joins your campaign will populate on The Team section of your campaign and receive a unique URL to send to their friends and family.
To create a standard campaign:
- Create your campaign
- Go to the Campaign Manager (after you upload your campaign image)
- Click on the “Edit” button on the Campaign panel
- Do not turn on the “Disable New Fundraisers” feature.
- Do not add Multiple teams or Registration & Ticketing.
Multiple team campaign
A Multiple-Team Campaign contains individuals fundraising as groups or teams.
Example use cases:
- DIY and peer to peer
- Chapter fundraising
- Capital campaigns
In order to have a Multiple-Team Campaign, you must enable the “Multiple Teams” setting in your Campaign Editor.
Important: Once you publish this campaign, you will not be able to reverse your campaign type, so be confident in how you want your campaign set up before you make this move!
Registration/Ticketing Campaign
You have a Registration/Ticketing Campaign if you've added a Registration or Ticketing component to your campaign. In this campaign type, participants sign up and/or pay a fee to receive entry or a ticket to your event.
Example use cases:
- Golf tournaments
- Walk-a-thon
- Galas and Dinners
Important: In order to have a Registration/Ticketing Campaign with multiple teams, you must enable the Multiple Teams setting first in your Campaign Editor. From there, you will need to enable the Registration and Ticketing setting.
Be careful when adding registration without turning on the multiple team campaign feature. You can’t add multiple teams later on if you’ve already raised funds.
